Finally back and ready for more action

Well I have not been updating this very much since the last post. But I am determined to get some new stuff up here and move forward with my quest to find the strange stuff.

So what I want to talk about now is My house and the few strange things that have been happening since we moved in.

We moved in about 3 years ago to a townhouse in Pa and ever since we did there have been some things that we can not explain. Now these things are not what you would call absolute proof but they are very strange and hard to explain. Things would fall off the wall, fall off the table. We have a cat that does not sleep with us, but we both have felt what we thought was her jumping up onto the bed and when we reach down to pet her or talk to her there is nothing there.

One night i was home alone watching one of these Ghost shows and I got an idea to record a few questions. I got the only thing I had available to digitally record. My Blackberry. I know its unconventional but it worked and thats all i cared about. Well I turned everything off and sat on the couch and placed the BB on the coffee table and started to ask questions. When I finished I replayed and got a disturbing answer.

The first question was "Is there anyone in the room with me now?"
The response I got was "Just Me"

It really freaked me out so I played it back for Beth and we both were freaked. We tried a few more times and have gotten nothing but I still feel like something is here.

The other night we were both in bed and I could have sworn that she had gotten out of bed and was walking around the room in the dark. I reached over and she was still next to me sound asleep. That is not the first time that I have heard that either.

So what our plan now is to have a seance with a OUIJA board, 2 digital recorders and a digital video camera. I am hoping to catch something so that I have more proof that we are not alone in this house. It would not make me want to leave since nothing bad has happened to us but it is just proof.

Hell House

There is an old college in MD that is no longer in use and is now just a pile of rubble. It is the old St. Marys College in Ellicott City, MD I am sure that you have all heard about the tales of Hell house and I bet some of you have even taken a trip down there to check it out for yourselves. If you have not it would be worth a trip just for the thrill of it and see what you can get out off it. It sits on top of a hill and you will have to climb a large set up steps to get to it. Not only is there Hell House in this area, there is also a burned down abandoned paper factory, Illchester train tunnel and a number of abandoned houses along one of the streets. When I first found it the factory was active and the houses were not abandoned. With in a few short years they were empty and the factory had burned down.

There are alot of stories that are associated with Hell House. The students were all murdered and buried in the tunnels underneath the school. There are records of murders on the site but thats about all you can find out about it. Everything else is stories told by the visitors.

My first trip up there was a few years ago after reading a bunch of stuff about it and finally pinpointing the location of the stairs by accident. I made the trip down there on saturday afternoon with Beth to see what it was all about. I have heard about the tunnels and the pool full of blood and all the horrible things that have happend to people while there were there. People seeing ghost, demons and other strange things. Screams coming from the woods and from the buildings. We got to the top of the steps and then there is a trail that leads to a set of new steps. This will lead you to the so called road that goes around the grounds. We made it up to what use to be the main building but now is just a pile of bricks. I was really disappointed that it had been torn down but I guess for safety reasons it had to be. We took a walk around the grounds to see what we could find and there is just a bunch of stairs and little buildings and walkways all around. we didnt really stay long. I took a bunch of pictures and when I got home to look at them I found one that was very interesting. Take a look and tell me what you think. I took it as we were leaving and if you look at the circle it looks like a face in the bushes. I was planning on another trip up there to get a better look at the pool and the Burned cross. I will update this one later.

Upper and Lower Melinda

This is a legend out of the Glyndon/Reisterstown area. I am not sure if it is true or not but it sure does sound cool.

From one Site:

Grave site of witch who taunted townspeople in the 1800's. Before she was hanged and cut in two by an angry mob, she put a curse on Reisterstown saying if anybody visited her grave, her two halves would crawl closer to each other until one day, they would become whole. For assurance, the townspeople buried her upper half on one side of Reisterstown in a grave marked UPPER MELINDA. The other grave in unmarked and has not been found till this day.

Another Site:

She was deemed a witch and after she was hanged, she was cut in two. Before she was hanged though she placed a curse on Reisterstown and said that if anyone visted her grave, her two halves would creep closer and closer together until the two parts were finally reunited. She would then rise from the grave and unleash havoc on the town of Reisterstwon as payback for what they did to her.

No one has ever found the grave of Lower Melinda. Upper Melinda is located on unused farmland in Reisterstown.

I never found the grave site to the upper part but I did find this mailbox that had the name on it. I was getting dark when I went and I didnt really want to walk the farm trying to find the grave. It is still a cool legend and story and to see this sign it made it seem real.

Dwelling near Falls Rd and Butler Rd

While driving around on day at work I noticed this structure and just had to check it out and see what it was all about. I parked down the street and took a hike to get a closer look. Now the legend in the area is that a stone mason bought a bunch of land in the area and just started to build houses to sell. Well he ran out of money and now there are a bunch of old stone foundations that just sit there. Some have been renovated but some have not. I am not sure what this one was used for but it is very interesting inside.

As I walked up to get a closer look, it seemed to be some kind of residence with a driveway and open garage with a balcony over top. I did not go directly to the house yet as I saw what looked like an Iron door in the side of a hill off to the side. I took a look and it was either a cold storage or some kind of storage. I t was really cold inside and there were a bunch of pipes and junk all over the place. Now that I think about it it may have just been a spring house at one point.

I decided to look around the house and see what was inside. As I approached, I got a strange feeling like that I cant explain. I took a look at the inside and was very surprised as to what I saw. The entire inside of the building was tile. The floors, ceilings and the walls. It was very strange. I also noticed that there was alot of asbestos dripping from the ceilings.
After looking around this place I just left since there was nothing really happening there. I didnt do any research on it but I am guessing that it was either a home or business at one point.

House in Jacksonville, MD

This house is in Jacksonville, MD. I was looking thru a website and looking for new places to go and found a bunch of stories about this house and I had to go see it an take pictures of it. After doing more research I found out exactly where it was and took a trip down there.

The story goes that it was the house of a brain surgeon that had been lost his license to practice because he was doing experiments on people in his basement. After he lost his license he continued to do the experiments and a number of people had died in the process. That was the only story that I could find about the house and I knew if it was true that there would be some cool stuff going on at the house.

So I took a trip to the house to see for myself. After arriving to the house I started my walk around the property and house snapping as many photos as I could along the way hoping to get something to show up. It was a creepy looking old house that was all boarded up and with NO TRESPASSING signs all over it. The driveway led you up to the front of the house where on one of the boarded up windows read "REDRUM" and "WILL YOU MARRY ME SWEETHEART" there was also a pentagram painted on the front of the house and a bunch of other symbols. I took a walk around the property and to the right of the house looked like an old smoke house or summer kitchen that had burned down. All that was left was the fireplace and the foundation. In the rear of the house was an old foundation for a garage or barn. As I was walking around I kept hearing footsteps behind me as if someone was following me. Everything I turned around there was nothing and everything was still and creepy. After I finished walking the grounds I sat on the back porch for a bit and just listened. I started to hear all kinds of strange noises coming from the house. I thought I had heard a womans voice asking for directions home, chains rattling, loud thumping, and what sounded like a long scream. After that I got up and walked to the front and continued to my car.

I took about 200 photos that day and none of them turned up anything. I was hoping that since it was day time that was reason because of all the things that I had heard

Rosewood Hospital

I first visited this site in 1996 when I worked in Owings Mills, MD and was intrigued by it because of its buildings and how creepy they are. It was recently shut down by the state so now you are no longer allowed to roam the grounds. But before it was shut down you could freely walk around and if you were brave enough and wasnt seen you could slip into a few of the buildings. If you have ever been there you can just imagine the horror that went on behind those walls back when it was a very active hospital. There is still alot of old equipment laying around and you just get this creepy feeling. One time when I was there I was taking some photos and walking around the buildings. I was walking around a corner and noticed a few huge exhaust fans that on the first floor. I didnt think anything of it and continued on my way. When I was done looking around back I walked back around the building to where the fan was and this time it was moving. There was no wind or breeze at the time and I go a strange feeling that something or someone was watching me. When I turned the final corner I looked up into one of the upper windows and saw a shadow race across the opening. I was stuck in fear and stood there for about what seemed an hour but was only about 15 minutes. This was the scariest encounter that I have had there.

First expeirence: Patapsco Female Institute

Like I said in my first post, the first experience was with the Patapsco Female Institute in Ellicott City, MD. My sister and her friends took me and my buddy Josh to a haunted hay ride somewhere in the area. When it was over one of her friends said that we should go to this abandoned insane asylum that they knew about. Everyone was up for it and excited to go. On the way there the guy was telling us all the stories that he had heard over the years. Most of the stories were about the torture of the patients and how some of them either died form the torture or committed suicide. He was saying how you can still hear the cries of the patients and sometimes see the ghost of them. After hearing all this stuff I was getting kind of freaked out and was thinking that it was not a good idea to go but I didnt want to seem like a pussy. We made a hard right turn off of Main St and started to go up a huge hill. As soon as we made the last curve there it was on top of the hill. It was a huge white building with big pillars in front. It was all dark except for the one light that was coming from the right of the building. We parked and walked up the hill to get a closer look. When we reached the top all you saw was a shell of the building. No windows, no doors and graffiti all over. There was an 8 foot fence that was around the building and some of the grounds. We stood outside the fence and just looked at the skeleton of the building. Me and josh were really freaked out since it was the first time we had seen anything like this. There was a hole in the fence that you could go thru and one of my sisters friends wanted to go in. No one else did so we just left. I didnt visit there again until a few years later when I was taking photography in school. This time I was with a few friends and we actually went thru the fence and up to the building. It was an amazing structure and just the shell was left. We took a look around and it really was just a shell. No floors, no doors and no windows. the front steps went up to the front of the building and then nothing. I took a few photos and got out. I went there alot over the next few years but the one time that stood out was when we went up there at midnight and as we were leaving we heard a loud scream coming from the woods. Scared the shit out of me.

Now the place has been restored and you can take tours. I know the true story about it and what it really was but it was still scary when it was unrestored.

All the photos that I have are on film but i did find one that I can use just so that you can see it.
